Teachers attacked education officers in Pakistan: Beaten up and snatched money; Case registered against 60 people, 32 arrested

A case has been registered on Saturday against 60 teachers and clerks in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is alleged to have attacked the education officer and prevented him from working. According to media reports, the complaint was made by Mohammad Azam, Education Officer of the District Education Authority, who was attacked. After this, 32 out of 60 people were identified and arrested.Azam said in the complaint that several officials of the education department, including him and Deputy District Education Officer Mohammad Asif, were attacked. He also claimed that the attackers also snatched Rs 70,000.He and Asif were reinstated on Thursday after they were transferred to the previous government, he said. At the same time, the police also lathi-charged the teachers and clerks who protested against Azam’s appointment.Dua Kalhoro of the World Sindhi Congress exposed Pakistan’s poor education system at the United Nations last month. He especially talked about the basic education of Sindhi children. Kalhoro had said how Sindhi children were being taken away from their right to basic education.About 60% of the 5-16-year-old Sindhi children are out of school, while 80% of the schools do not have proper facilities. He said that from this data we want to bring to your attention the sad condition of Sindhi children in Pakistan.At the same time, according to government data, about 70 lakh or more than 44% of children of 5-16 years are out of education. The figures for 2020-21 show that there are about 20 lakh students in primary education in Sindh and about 47% of the total primary schools have only one teacher.
