Pakistan reports 768 new COVID-19 cases, 19 more deaths – Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, March 3 (Xinhua) — Pakistan on Wednesday reported 768 new COVID-19 cases and 19 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Thursday.

The NCOC, the country’s department leading the campaign against the pandemic, said that the total tally has increased to 1,511,754 cases, including 1,449,060 recoveries.

The number of active cases has dropped to 32,457 in the country, including 908 patients in critical condition.

According to the NCOC data, 19 more people died on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 30,237.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region in terms of the number of cases, with 568,928 infections, followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 502,012 cases so far. ■
