Pakistan Foreign Office advised on Friday students stranded in Ukraine amid a war between Russia and Ukraine to travel to Ternopil “to enable evacuations” as the situation improves.

In a statement on Twitter, the Pakistani embassy in Ukraine said the students should move to Ternopil for evacuations as the “embassy is fully functional” in the western city of Ukraine.

In an earlier tweet, the embassy had asked the students to remain in their locations till the situation improved.

The airspace in Ukraine has been shut down after Russia launched an invasion of the European country through land, air, and sea. So far, dozens of deaths have been reported as rockets struck multiple cities to take out military installations.

A day earlier, the embassy had said it was in touch with students who could not move out of Ukraine. It said they will be able to leave Ukraine once the situation improved.
