Pakistan confirms 6137 new COVID-19 cases, 28 more deaths – Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) — Pakistan on Friday confirmed 6,137 new COVID-19 cases and 28 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Saturday.

The NCOC said that the country’s overall tally has surged to 1,454,800 while 1,333,732 out of them have recovered.

The number of active cases had dropped to 91,620 including 1,649 those who are in critical condition.

The NCOC data showed that 28 people died while battling against the pandemic on Friday, increasing the overall death toll to 29,448.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most-affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 549,872 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 487,407 cases so far. ?
