Pakistan reports 5830 new COVID-19 cases, 42 more deaths – Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) — Pakistan on Wednesday reported 5,830 new COVID-19 cases and 42 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Thursday.

The NCOC said that the country’s overall tally has surged to 1,442,263 while 1,312,819 of them have recovered.

The number of active cases has dropped to 100,072 including 1,590 who are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC data, 42 people died on Wednesday, increasing the overall death toll to 29,372.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most-affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 546,141 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province, which has reported 483,779 cases. ?
