Pakistan confirms 4,340 new COVID-19 cases-Xinhua – Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — Pakistan confirmed 4,340 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Monday.

The NCOC said the country has conducted 24,186,508 tests so far, confirming 1,328,487 cases in total.

Over the past 24 hours, 302 patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,263,486, while seven more people were killed by the disease, which increased the death toll to 29,019, according to the NCOC.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 502,500 infections, followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 453,392 cases. ?
